O'Rings

At Bovill & Boyd we hold an extensive stock of O Rings, both metric and imperial. In addition our access to comprehensive stockholding/production facilities in the UK midlands, Luxemborg & Italy allows Bovill & Boyd to supply a significant range of O'Rings.

Our materials range from standard Nitrile to the more complex Perflourelastomers for the challenging environment. A list of the more commonly available materials is detailed below. All these compounds can be moulded in a variety of hardnesses to suit your requirements.

Also available are FEP Encapsulated O'Rings. These seals comprise a moulded join Viton or Silicone O'Ring completely encased in PTFE. This process makes the seal ideally suited to the more vigorous chemical operations. Separate data sheets are available for this product from the downloads section.

Viton, Nitrile and Silicone Cord are readily available in both Metric and Imperial. Other materials and less standard hardnesses can be manufactured to your requirements. If required this cord can then be subjected to one of two processes in order to make O'Rings in non standard sizes whilst avoiding the moulding cost. Scarf joined & vulcanised is a common process used to join cord into rings, an alternative to this is another process which gives a stronger join - Just ask for a Moulded Join O'Ring. PTFE Solid and Spiral Back up Rings are also available.
